A short study guide on smoking.

3 Rules to Cigar Smoking

1. Don't be intimidated

2. Smoke what fits your budget

3. If you do not enjoy it, you are doing something wrong

8 Tips For More Enjoyment

1. When cutting with a guillotine cutter, lay the cigar flat on a table, place it straight up, and snip. You should get a straight cut with just the right amount of the nipped head off your cigar.

2. When smoking lower quality cigars, they burn unevenly- No worries, just rotate the slow-burning side to the bottom.

3. Sometimes even the best cigars can be too tight and are hard to draw- again, no worries... usually... Massage the cigar and try to determine where the tight spot is. Sometimes you can massage it our, although a toothpick can help if the trouble is towards the head.

4. Before setting down your cigar between puffs, give your cigar a few quick puffs to heat up the cherry. This will help prevent the cigar from going out.

6. Don't get too caught up in lighting your cigar. Matches work as well as a Bic, which works as well as an expensive lighter. Don't belive all that rubbish about impurities getting into the cigar- even if it is true, I highly doubt you would notice.

7. If you prefer to remove the band when smoking, it is best to wait a bit. Rushing it could tear the wrapper. Let the heat of the cigar reactivate the glue so it can easily be removed.

8. When relighting a cigar that has gone out you msut relight it differently to avoid many bad flavors. Start by agressively tapping off any remaining ash. Next, blow through the cigar to clear any stale air or additional ash that may be sitting there. Lastly, as you light it, continue to blow gently through the cigar with the flame at the foot for a few seconds before you take your first draw.
